The best Saturday morning need something healthy-ish and sweet!

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 TBS baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons butter, melted and slightly cooled
2 large eggs, at room temperature
2 TBS packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 and 3/4 cup buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1:
Preheat waffle maker on medium-high heat. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt together. Set aside.
Step 2:
In another large bowl, stir together the melted butter, sugar and eggs. Whisk in the buttermilk and vanilla until combined. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and then whisk gently until combined. Do not over-mix. There will be some small lumps.
Step 3:
Grease the waffle iron with butter. You can also use nonstick spray. Pour about 1/3 cup of the batter into each well of the waffle maker (or less if your waffle maker is smaller) and close the lid. Cook the waffles until crisp, about 4–5 minutes. (Follow the cooking instructions for your waffle maker.) Take out and butter the tops. Repeat to cook the remaining batter. You can serve with syrup for for a healthy version top with bananas and honey!
